Chapter Seven

Ana woke up in Alek’s bed again. What time was it? She looked over at the alarm clock next to the bed. Nine a.m. “Why should I get up?” she mumbled.

It had been a few months and nobody had heard from Cira or his family. Ana was tired of hanging around the house. Valorie had told her not to come to work until they made sure it was safe for her to do so.

She picked her lazy body up off the bed and walked to the bathroom. One look in the mirror had her ducking from the horrendous sight. “I need to get my hair done and soon.”

Ana was finally letting the blonde grow out along with the purple highlights. She was thinking about going back to her natural color. Why change it at all if she wanted Cira to find her?

Someone out in the living room slammed a door. Ana finished brushing her teeth and washing her face. Shutting off the water, she toweled her face and hands.

Walking into the living room she looked out at the March weather in Minnesota. The sun was shining through the wall of windows and she watched Tommy and Seth walk around the back of the house.

Making her way into the kitchen, Ana suddenly felt herself get angry again. Slamming her hand against the counter. “It’s been months and nothing. I’m sick of this. I don’t like to be watched.”

Her protection detail consisted of Razan and Liam’s teams rotating along with her ever loving protector, Alek. Ana wondered where her wayward man was.

When she heard the front door open and close she quickly pulled her hair back into a tie. “Alek, is that you?”

“Yeah it’s me.” He walked into the kitchen area where she was still standing. “How’re you feeling?” Alek asked her.

“Fine. You know I’m not fine, I’m bitchy. I need to go to my house and get some clothes. Also, if Cira hasn’t been found in two months I think I need to go to work.” Ana was serious, she hated sitting around.

“No, I said you’ll have to be patient. I don’t want to see anything happen to you.” Alek rubbed his face with his hand.

“Really. I’m sick of this. We’ve been together for two months non-stop. I can’t hang like this anymore. I’m used to working. Look we’ve been having fun, it’s like old times. I’m not sure what’s going on with you Alek, but you haven’t even tried to kiss me again since.” She looked up at the ceiling before answering her own question, “the New Year’s Eve party.”

“Whoa, wait. Where’s all this coming from darling?” Alek could be so arrogant sometimes and it was bothering Ana.

“We can’t go anywhere. We’ve been cooped up in this stupid apartment. You won’t even let me go to the grocery store. No, you send one of your thugs to get us the necessities.” Ana complained.

“What do you need to buy?” Alek asked.

“I just want to go out shopping to the mall or something.
